Text Box: VESL for Home Health Aid (Voc Ed 059CE)

Text Box: The Vocational English for Home Health Aid course is designed to provide students with industry-specific English vocabulary. The objective of the course is to ensure that students are able to speak, read and write basic English within the context of their vocation. This course is provided as a supplement to the IHSS course. Upon completion, students will be awarded a Certificate of Completion by LA City College.

Text Box: This non-credit open-entry/exit course is designed for LEP students to learn English terminology in the context of the Health field.  This is a short-term class which is supplementary to a students current Nursing course. Upon completion, students will be awarded a Certificate of Completion by LA City College.

Text Box: VESL for Child Development 1 (Voc Ed 054CE)

Text Box: This course is specifically designed for students who are registered in Child Development courses, but need additional assistance with the subject-specific language and study habits. The course is offered in a collaborative learning format. The course covers study skills, breaking down the textbook, and mastering Child Development terminology. Upon completion, students will be awarded a Certificate of Completion by LA City College.

Text Box: This is a short-term non-credit open entry/exit course designed for Limited English Proficient adults who are interested in working in an office but need the English skills.  The course will prepare them with the vocabulary and strategies of how to read and comprehend any type of reading material.  Upon completion, students will be awarded a Certificate of Completion by LA City College.

Text Box: VESL: Entry-Level Introduction to Retail Sales I (Voc Ed 156CE)

Text Box: This non-credit open entry/exit course is designed to give students an introductory taste of one out of three beginning levels for limited-English proficient adults to improve their chances of securing employment in a retail sales environment.  The course content includes: cashier duties, delivery person responsibilities, customer sales, and stock clerks.. Upon completion, students will be awarded a Certificate of Completion by LA City College.
